Poison Ivy Relief from Our Jewelweed Goat Milk Soap!

Jewelweed Goat Milk Soap!Jewelweed

Orange Jewelweed, Impatiens capensis

The Jewelweed plant grows in abundance here at the farm. It blooms throughout the summer in the eastern part of North America. You are likely to find Jewelweed near wet areas and often near poison ivy. It is know for its skin healing properties and has been used to relieve poison ivy and poison oak for years.

The juice that can be found in the Jewelweed stem has also been said to relieve itching from mosquito bites, and wasp stings.

For our Jewelweed soap I collectJewelweed Soap  the Jewelweed plant and make a concentrated Jewelweed tea. I then add it to our goat milk soap recipe. Our soap is made using our own fresh goat milk, moisturizing oils and I add oat flour and honey. All of these ingredients may help relieve skin irritations including eczema, and acne . I make our soap in small batches and hand-cut each bar. Because our artisanal soap is handcrafted each batch of soap may vary in color and have slight variations in shapes of the bars. I chose not to add any scent to this wild crafted medicinal soap.

You can purchase our Jewelweed soap from the farm, our online store and at our local farmers markets.
